Vinayaka Mission's Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, a Pioneer institution in the field of Quality based Homoeopathic Medical education was the vision of the Philanthropist, Dr. A.Shanmugasundaram, the seeds of which were sown in the month of September 1988 at the foothills of Yercaud, Salem, Tamilnadu.. The college took its initiative in the Undergraduate education and holistic patient care under the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai but soon set up its foundation as a Deemed institution under the Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem (declared under Sec.3 of the UGC Act,1956) in the year 2001 and befitted as the first college in South India to provide Post graduate programme in all the 7 specialities of Homoeopathy and an undergraduate approval of 100 students per academic year in the year 2002. The college is the research centre for Doctorate in Homoeopathy (Ph.D.) from the year 2011.

Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade.

Vinayaka Mission's Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, is National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) accredited hospital in Salem, Tamilnadu under AYUSH Hospital Accreditation programme. It is a service oriented Pioneer institution with a reputable Hospital operating for 34 years providing Out- Patient and In- Patient care 24*7. We operate with exclusive multiple speciality units like General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Surgery, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. The Hospital has a Physiotherapy unit annexed to it along with Clinical Laboratory, ECG, X-ray & Ultrasound Scan facilities. The In-patient department runs with 46 beds to provide First class Homeopathic treatment. Our extended services include a City Health Centre at First Agraharam, Salem & 09 Peripheral Health Centres operating in rural areas.. Health care services are offered at minimal costs.
