About National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN):

National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune is an autonomous body under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, located at a historical place called "Bapu Bhavan" situated at Tadiwala Road, behind Pune Railway Station, Pune.

"Bapu Bhavan" is named after Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, who made this Institute his home by staying here for 156 days, whenever he visited Pune Since 1944. Formerly this place was known as "Nature Cure Clinic and Sanatorium", run by Late Dr. Dinshaw K. Mehta.

AII India Nature Cure Foundation Trust was established in this Centre and Mahatma Gandhi became its life long Chairman. Gandhiji conducted many National and International activities from this place. Gandhiji's life is a source of guidance and a sacred heritage to us. The National Institute of Naturopathy, PUNE came into existence on 22.12.1986. This Institute has a "Governing Body" headed by Hon'ble Minister of AYUSH as its President.

Mahatma Gandhi’s life - long passion for Nature Cure led to close association with Dr. Dinshaw Mehta, an eminent Naturopath at Pune, transforming patient-physician relationship into father-son relationship.

On November 18, 1945, Mahatma Gandhi founded the ‘All India Nature Cure Foundation Trust’ as Founder-Trustee and Chairman for life, with the objective of establishing a Nature Cure University.Dr. Dinshaw Mehta settled all the assets of his nature cure clinic to the Trust which subsequently was handed over to the Government of India to establish the current National Institute of Naturopathy, under the Ministry of AYUSH, by renaming the premises as Bapu Bhavan. Government of India has decided to observe November 18, as the National Naturopathy Day, acknowledging the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi about his commitment and advocacy of Nature Cure.

Make Naturopathy and Yoga accessible to all. Provide quality of service by imparting Education and Training in the field of Naturopathy and Yoga.

Objectives:-
(i) To provide and encourage facilities for standardization and propagation of the existing knowledge and its application in the field of Naturopathy and Yoga.
(ii) Provide facilities and encourage quality training/teaching in Naturopathy and Yoga by establishing a Nature Cure University.
(iii) To conduct, facilitate and encourage research activities in all aspects concerning human health.
(iv) To establish a living Memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.
