Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust was founded in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District (the southernmost District of Tamilnadu, India) by Late Dr. N.D. Jeyasekharan in 1965.

Dr.Jeyasekharan Medical Trust is an ISO 9001:2015 & ISO14001:2015 Bureau Veritas certified and NABH accredited multi-specialty hospital.

The average outpatient attendance per day is around 416 and about 37 patients are admitted / discharged daily. More than 3,000 Major and 4500 Minor Surgeries are carried out annually. Open heart surgeries are performed regularly. This Institution is recognized for Renal Transplantation surgeries. Various Intensive and Intermediary Care Units are in the hospital namely, MICU (Multi-disciplinary Intensive/Intermediate Care Unit), lCCU (Intensive /Intermediate Coronary Care Unit), SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Paediatric Step Downward (PSDW), POW (Post Operative Ward), a Labour Unit and NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). 24 hours Emergency Care service with Resident and Senior Consultants on call is available.

The institution prides itself in being the first private Hospital in southern Tamil Nadu to have set up a water treatment plant, bio- gas plant, incinerator, Oxygen plant and also has implemented other- anti-pollution measures. The Bio-medical waste management is carried out professionally. On the social and welfare front, the Institution conducts Medical Camps and awareness programs periodically.

ACADEMICS:

The Institution is recognized by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi to train candidates in General Surgery, Anesthesia and General Medicine towards the Post Graduate degree of Diplomate National Board.

We have a well-equipped library in the hospital which has textbooks, journals, electronic journals, internet access and IGNOU transmissions. Surgical workshops, Seminars, Symposium and journal club meetings are conducted regularly. Foreign Medical and Nursing students often come here for their elective postings. In recent times we have numerous visiting surgeons also.
